In the case of Hillcrest Foods, we were presented with a not so uncommon scenario: A long-established local brand needs to “pop” again and feel connected to its customers and locality.
Our approach with the folks at Hillcrest has been easy-to-follow thus far: Let the brand do what it naturally tends to do. In this case, that natural tendency has involved re-establishing a deep connection between a small business identity and a city with a profound love for food and food purveyors.
The response has been heartfelt by some and quite exciting by others as Hillcrest has taken its image and direction onto social media frontiers, running far with the hashtag #eatlocalohio and successfully engaging customers and followers beyond its Cleveland, Ohio home-base.
